Guðný Sara

Guðný Sara Birgisdóttir (1993) completed her BA studies in fine art in 2018, where her work consisted of installations with texts, videos and sound. She graduated from the masters program of design from IUA where she was drawn to doing extensive research on interesting topics in Iceland as well as globally, still using the same mediums listed above. She often uses a speculative setting where her research is processed and translated in a creative way, both in physical and emotional spaces. Guðný seeks to design and create a body of experiences that make us think about and question our relationship to our surroundings. She looks into production processes, material use, storytelling, emerging technologies, relationships and how to create an exciting, challenging or effective environment for discussion and awareness raising. Guðný will graduate from arts education in the spring of 2022.

Janosch Kratz kynnir Stofuna

Janosch Bela Kratz is a communication designer and media artist from Karlsruhe, Germany, currently living in Reykjavík, Iceland. While studying communication design at HfG Karlsruhe he decided to take a break so he could graduate in the Design Master program “Explorations & Translations” at Listaháskóli Islands, with a focus on fiction in design, post-human feminism and immigration history. While the master’s degree shaped his theoretical mindset the ongoing studies in Karlsruhe are building his practical back bone. Within his work he frequently touches topics like home, leaving, arriving and the contact to the non-human. His main sources are pop cultural and social phenomena which became cornerstones of his research and artistic practice. Even though he is mainly working with code, video essays and illustrations he likes to discover new media in the process of his work.
