Environmental psychologist Páll Jakob Líndal discusses people's assessment of the environment. The discussion is based on the results of a survey that has been ongoing since 2014. It also covers which environmental factors matter in the built environment if the goal is to build a humane and constructive environment.

If time permits, he will also discuss resident consultation and how technology can be used to improve the dialogue between residents, authorities, and other stakeholders.

Páll holds a PhD in Environmental Psychology from the University of Sydney. He is an expert in assessing the psychological effects of the environment on health and well-being, whether it be the natural or the built environment. Páll has many years of experience in planning matters and projects related to the preservation of architectural heritage. In addition, he has worked on psychological research and has for years been a tireless advocate for giving psychological perspectives their space in design and planning processes and for placing greater emphasis on the interplay between people and the environment.

He also runs the consulting and research company ENVALYS, where environmental psychology, planning, and design are intertwined with the help of 3D and virtual reality technology. Páll is also the director of a supplementary master's program in environmental psychology at Reykjavik University, in addition to being a lecturer and coach.
