Academic Café | Easy Language

Snorri Rafn Hallsson project manager of Miðstöð um auðlesið mál / Center for easy language  talks about the project Audlesid.is and the importance of people getting information in a language that they understand. Easy language is useful for those who find it difficult to read texts, for instance people with disabilities, dyslexia or those who are learning Icelandic.  Texts in easy language also offer more people access to all kinds of culture. A handbook with instructions on how to translate and write texts in easy language will be published soon.

The event is part of the culture festival Uppskera  in Reykjavík from the 8th of February till the 8th of March 2025.
