At Toddler Times, adults of all backgrounds with infants and children of preschool age come together to read books, play, sing and chat. Once in a while there are some educational talks about children and parenting, but the library also has a lot of interesting and informative books and magazines related to the subject. We also offer a great selection on children's books! 

The changing facilities are good at all the libraries and there is always coffee on the house.

Toddler Times are once a week at the city libraries in Gerðuberg and Spöngin twice a week, once a week at the library in Grófin and once a month at the library in Kringlan. Below you can read more about each one. 

Toddler Times are friendly, fun and free!

Toddler Time in Grófin

Every Monday and Thursday at 10:30 am - 11:30 am, all year round. 

We warmly welcome carers with young children to Toddler Time, to chat, play and sing together.

A staff member leads a singalong for the children at 11 am. 

On Mondays we introduce the children to the old classics and on Thursdays we sing the preschool songs together.

Location: Children's section 2nd floor.

Memmm Playtime in Gerðuberg

Every Wednesday morning at 10am- 2pm during wintertime.

At Family mornings in Gerðuberg the City Library collaborates with the open preschool Memmm Playtime, adults with young children meet to sing, play and learn together.

Toddler Time in Spöngin

Every Tuesday morning at 10:00 - 11:00 

We warmly welcome carers of all backgrounds with young children to Toddler Time at the Reykjavík City Library in Spöngin (Grafarvogur neighbourhood) to chat and play. Staffmember of the library brings a guitar and we sing together all the fun kindergarten songs.

Toddler Time in Kringlan

 Third Friday every month at 10:00 - 11:00 

Cozy mornings for adults chatting and playing with their youngest ones. The events are aimed at children up to 3 years old, but everyone is welcome.

Note that the library opens at 11:00 but an employee will be at the door to let the toddlers and their companions in.
