From Earth you are

In Gegga's paintings, clay and colour come together playfully on the canvas. Passion for life, it's creation and mystic is the inspiration for her art. She asks questions that no living being can answer, but so many would like to know: Who are we? Where do we come from? Where do we go... ef we go anywhere?

Mother Earth is our place here and now. She offers infinite plenty and nurture for everyone. Respect and awareness that we are part of nature are the fundaments for the endurance of all of Earth's plenties. No child assaults its mother while nourished by her breast. No mother compares to the holy Mother Earth.

Gegga holds a B.A. degree in ceramics from Iceland University of the Arts. In this exhibition she uses the clay in an unusual way - straight from the earth to the canvas, with acrylic colours and found objects.

The exhibition is open when the library is open, Mon-Thu 10-19, Fri 11-18, Sat 11-16.
