Grófin City Library | Tryggvagata 15, 101 Reykjavík
Our biggest library is in the heart of the city. On a rainy day, stop by to read magazines, explore the children’s area, knit, play the piano, listen to vinyl, or just enjoy whatever catches your interest.


Kringlan City Library | Listabraut 3, 103 Reykjavík
A cozy library with lots of comfy spots to relax. It's right next to Kringlan Shopping Mall—perfect for a quiet break after shopping.


Gerðuberg City Library | Gerðuberg 3-5, 111 Reykjavík
Located in the Breiðholt suburb of Reykjavik, this large library focuses on environmental topics, shown through its events and facilities. Don’t miss the Freeshop—everything there is free!


Sólheimar City Library | Sólheimar 23a, 104 Reykjavík
This small, cozy library is a local favorite! In a quiet Reykjavik neighborhood, it's perfect for families and anyone who enjoys peaceful reading.


Spöngin City Library | Spöngin 41, 112 Reykjavík
Located in Grafarvogur, a suburb of Reykjavík, this bright, spacious library has a large children's area and eye-catching book displays. Enjoy ongoing art exhibitions and regular arts and crafts events for all ages.


Árbær City Library | Hraunbær 119, 110 Reykjavík
Just a 15-minute drive from the city center, this comfy library has cozy sofas and plenty of space to read, play board games, or chat with the locals.


Úlfarsárdalur City Library | Úlfarsbraut 122-124, 113 Reykjavík
This beautiful library is bright and modern, and shares a building with a school and a swimming pool. It's a great spot to chat, study, work or simply hang out and read and go swimming afterwards. 


Kléberg City Library | Kollagrund 2-6, 116 Reykjavík
Kléberg is a small school library on the edge of Reykjavík. It has limited hours, but it's worth a visit — especially on a sunny day with a swim in the nearby pool and nature to explore all around.
