Information about the event
Exhibition | H2O - The Colours of Water
Water is the object of Guðrún Anna Matthíasdóttir's photographic works these days. She is fascinated by the colours and forms that she finds when she contemplates drops, flowing water, streams, all kinds of reflections and nuances, hence the title: H2O (water) - Colours of Water.
Guðrún uses a macro-lense for this photography, and gets closer to the water, often with unexpected results. Her goal is to surprise and show new perspectives of the water, and sometimes it is not totally clear what exactly is reflected in the water.
Guðrún studied art but then chose other activities, and through them had chances to travel and live abroad. "To get to know different cultures and exotic landscapes has been very giving and stimulated my creativity, I always have my camera at hand" she says. She has taken various courses in photography and fine arts, but after she moved to France 15 years ago she has dedicated herself to creating: painting, writing and photographing. Guðrún has held solo exhibitions and group exhibitions, and has published two children's books. The exhibition H2O - Colours of Water has been on display two times in Corsica.
Welcome to the opening, Sat Jan 11th at 14:00.
