Exhibition | Samples from Hringurinn

This exhibition features handicrafts created by members of the Women's Association Hringurinn over the past few months.

The works on display include primarily tablecloths, baby sets, and cushions—just a small sample of the diverse and beautiful craftsmanship produced by the women of Hringurinn.
These exhibition pieces, along with many other items, will be available for purchase at the nationally renowned bazaar at the Grand Hotel in Sigtún on Sunday, November 2.

The Women's Association Hringurinn was founded in 1904. Its mission is to support charitable and humanitarian causes, particularly those benefiting children. For decades, the association’s main project has been supporting the construction and development of the Children's Hospital Hringurinn. Notably, this year the hospital received a donation of 120 million ISK from the association. Many other projects related to children's health have also been supported, including the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Department and various residential homes for individuals with disabilities, to name just a few.
The association currently has around 360 women of all ages who work year-round to raise funds for the Children's Hospital Fund. Regular fundraising activities include the sale of Christmas cards, Christmas coffee events, bazaars, and raffles. Other major efforts include the “Gift Corner,” where Hringurinn’s handicrafts are sold, as well as the sale of memorial and occasion cards, and donation boxes placed in various locations, such as at Keflavík Airport.

The exhibition is open during the library’s regular opening hours.
