Handicraft Times

Are you working on something creative? Are you crocheting a beautiful shawl or embroidering a cushion?
When laughter echoes and both social and current affairs are discussed in depth, chances are it’s a handicraft gathering at the library. Everyone is welcome to these cozy sessions—beginners as well as more experienced crafters. We chat about all sorts of things, enjoy a cup of coffee, and focus on our handiwork in good company.
You can keep track of the programme in our events calendar here on the website or on Facebook. No registration required — just show up!
We also have a wide selection of books and magazines about handicrafts that you can draw inspiration from, read at the library, or borrow with a library card.

Handicraft Books
Would you like to start your own handicraft club in collaboration with the library?
If so, feel free to get in touch and we’ll help find a suitable space and a convenient time.
“Homeless” handicraft clubs are also welcome to settle in at a library of their choice whenever it’s time to pick up the knitting needles or embroidery. If the group is large, however, it’s a good idea to speak with a staff member in advance to make sure it won’t conflict with other programmes or events taking place at the library.
For further information, please contact staff at any of the libraries. You can also call us or send an email to borgarbokasafn@borgarbokasafn.is.
