The story is about a teenage girl called North who grows up in Denmark with her mother. As strange changes happen to the environment around her, North embarks on a dangerous journey to Niflheim along with the squirrel Ratatoski and assistance from the norns Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld. At the same time, the entrepreneur Sigur plots in the highlands of Iceland to use a rare rock to travel into space.

The authors use Nordic cultural heritage to discuss man’s relationship with nature and, through an exciting fantasy, asks questions about our place on earth.

A hardcopy of the book is also available at the library.
