Intercultural Storytelling Workshop
Intercultural storytelling workshop promotes inter-community cohesion and social inclusion as a therapeutic literacy practice for local citizens.
The aim of this project is to help build better understanding and relationship between all members of the communities, of all nationalities, ages and backgrounds.
The workshop is designed to make all participants feel welcome and included.
Marina Ermina is an event facilitator, who has years of experience working in education and wellbeing fields, facilitating social and environmental projects in Reykjavik and abroad, currently studying Master’s program with focus on Sustainability Education in Haskoli Islands.
The Intercultural Storytelling Project was created and successfully implemented by Dr Peter Sheekey in Ireland, where members of communities shared their stories to promote greater understanding and social cohesion.
The inspiration for the current event comes from Marina’s recent study visit to Sweden undergoing intercultural training with Awesome People www.awesomepeople.se, whose focus is on empowering young people through educational activities.
