Bike Ride | Rendezvous with the Neighbourhood Poets

Laugardagur 15. janúar 2022

Come along on an energizing and nourishing bike ride and listen to Guttormur recite poems and prose by poets from the neighbourhood. Get to know the poets in Hlíðar and Háaleiti, travel back in time, chase cats in Kringlan and robbers in Öskjuhlíð.

The tour starts by the entrance to Kringlan City Library in the car basement. We recommend clothes and bikes that suit the weather conditions. Please, meet up on time. The bike ride takes around 90 min and then we’ll warm up our cold fingers at a café at the end of the trip.

Tour leaders: Árni Davíðsson from the cycling education group Hjólafærni and Historian Guttormur Þorsteinsson.

Please note that this event is in Icelandic.

We invite you to take part in the monthly bike rides one Saturday morning from January to April.

This new series of events is a cooperative project of the Reykjavik City Library and the cycling education group, Hjólafærni á Íslandi with a grant from Miðborgarsjóður Reykjavíkurborgar.

The bike tours are free and you are all welcome to take part.
