Academic Café | "I hope you will give this letter to the fire"

In The Women's History Archives, Kvennasögusafn Íslands we can find amongst other things, love letters.

They are confessions of love, material things that you can hold, embrace and read again and again. They can be kept but can also be destroyed.

Often love letters contain very private and personal information and do seldom end up in public archives. But some do, and historian Rakel Adolphsdóttir will tell us what kind of love letters can be found in The Women's History Archives. Who wrote them and to whom? And how is it for an academic to delve deep into so personal matters of people?
