Exhibition | Remains of a Stay II

An exhibition of textiles, paintings and drawings by Ásta Vilhelmína Guðmundsdóttir and Soffía Sæmundsdóttir.

"Leaving home to stay for a short while at a place dedicated to art, where everything is new and unfamiliar moves the thought. The space that it creates seems enourmous and liberating. What comes then? And what are the remains of a stay?"

The exhibition is the result of a month's stay of the two Icelandic artists in a residency in Düsseldorf, Germany last year.  

Ásta Vilhelmína Guðmundsdóttir is an artist and designer. Her works are often under the influence of weather and nature. They are full of contrasts, like the Icelandic nature, like a powerful storm or dreamy Icelandic landscape. hennar www.astaclothes.is

Soffía Sæmundsdóttir has been active on the arts scene for the last decade. Soffía is kown for her paintings, but also works with drawing and graphics. Her inspiration is nature and landscapes, she is intersted in how humans relate with landscape. http://soffia-malarinn.blogspot.com/
