Learning Icelandic...like a walk in the park

Learn Icelandic through reading short shories, discussing and writing your own. Each workshop is dedicated to a specific theme, where you practice Icelandic with a basic vocabulary realating to the theme.  You can attend one or more workshops; each one is taught as an independent unit.

In total there are six workshops dedicated to writing, storytelling and understanding of Icelandic language provided in collaboration with Berglind Erna Tryggvadóttir and Þórunn Rakel Gylfadóttir. Participants will read short stories and discuss their topics. Students will then be instructed in how to write simple but creative texts in Icelandic. Those who wish can share their texts at the end of each course and the group will discuss them. Participants will be invited to read their stories at a special event at the City Library during Culture Night 2024. This gives new writers the opportunity to express their views and experiences and participate democratically in society on their own terms.
