The Nail | Gagnsæi

A new art-piece will be showcased on the Nail in Sólheimar City Library. An oil painting on canvas by Ólöf Björg Björnsdóttir called Gagnsæi. Hólmfríður Gunnlaugsdóttir, administrator of the Artótek, choose the art-piece this time. The Nail is an art exhibition at Sólheimar City Library where only one art-piece is showcased at any given time. This piece is the 18th to be exhibited on The Nail. All pieces showcased are provided by the Artótek.

Ólöf Björg graduated from the Icelandic University of the Arts in 2001. Later, in 2007, she finished a teaching degree from the same school. Ólöf has practised art all over the world, for example in Granada, Spain and Seoul, South Korea. Through the years Ólöf has held many private exhibitions but her work has also been showcased in group exhibitions and on other occasions.

The piece can be bought or rented, with the opportunity to ownership once the rent has reached the sales price. The buyer (or rentee) of the piece Gagnsæi can select the next art-piece, from the Artótek, to be showcased on the Nail.

The painting Gagnsæi can be rented for 5.000 kr. a month or bought for 150.000 kr.
