Tengivirkið - Young People Connect

Thursday February 24th 2022

At Tengivirkið we learn Icelandic in a variety of ways, through movies, chatting, projects and games. All are welcome - also beginners.

Our host is Hildur Loftsdóttir, an experienced teacher, author and a journalist. Hildur has lived in 4 different countries and loves languages. She has been teaching Icelandic for the past 11 years, first in New York and now at the Tin Can Factory in Reykjavik. She also writes great children books and recently received an award for her book Eyðieyjan.

At Tengivirkið - Young People Connect, people aged 16 - 25, whose native language is not Icelandic, meet others with diverse backgrounds and experience, in a good and relaxing environment. They learn some Icelandic through diverse ways with an experienced teacher and receive some presentations from interesting organisations and parties.

Tengivirkið is a part of the library's development as an open space where users are sought to be involved in programming and make the space their own.

Free of charge - no obligation
All the Tengivirki's events start at 4pm and last for about 90minutes.
