Give your fabric tote a new life with the Textile Bar
Do you have a tired or slightly boring reusable bag gathering dust in your closet? Or maybe a bag with a logo you’d like to hide? Bring it to the Textile Bar’s workshop and transform it into a true masterpiece.
In this workshop, we focus on decorating, improving, and transforming readymade bags. We use creative techniques to make old bags look like new — or even better than new.
What can you do in the workshop? We bring the ideas and tools, you bring the bag. You can sew on patches, use beautiful fabric scraps to sew or glue fun patterns over holes or old logos. Add your own personal flair with all kinds of exciting textiles. You can embellish with beads, buttons, tassels, or simple embroidery for extra character.
Why join? No sewing experience needed — this is about creativity, not complicated technique. Personal style — no one else will have a bag like yours. Circular economy in action — we extend the life of what we already own.
Practical information:
What to bring: Bring one or more fabric tote bags (old store bags, promotional bags, anything). If you have any fun decorations you’d like to use, feel free to bring those too. At the workshop, there will be plenty of supplies such as fabric scraps, threads, buttons, and tools.
This event is a part of a project called make-a-thek which is funded by the EU.
