Storytime by the fire | Árstíðarverur
Welcome to a cozy outdoor storytime where we’ll light a small campfire to brighten up the dark winter days. You can warm up with hot chocolate while Diljá Hvannberg Gagu reads to us from her book Árstíðarverur. The story is dedicated to all children growing up in Icelandic weather. In the book, we meet Bjarni who is learning about the seasons at school but quickly discovers that the seasonal changes aren’t quite what he was taught. Bjarni‘s curiosity leads him on an adventure where he encounters creatures who don’t always agree on what the weather should be like. After the storytime you are invited to join an art workshop with Linn Janssen, who illustrated the book. In the workshop, we’ll create our very own weather creatures.
Let’s meet outside the lower entrance of Gerðuberg and dress according to the weather, who knows which weather creature might show up that day.
