How to get more anti-racist books translated to Icelandic

Monday March 20th 2023

Following a conversation in the library about racism in children literature and the library's responsibility towards outdated content, we are organizing an open work session on the topic of How to get more anti-racist books translated into Icelandic?

The library can support new ways of storytelling to raise awareness of how whiteness and structural racism influence our everyday lives. Storytelling in books can influence identity building and confidence in children.

We are inviting publishers, translators, people responsible for grants and any other interested party to join us in the Reykjavik City Library Grófin, on the ground floor in Torgið. Let's get more anti-racist books translated into Icelandic so they can easily be read by parents to their children and also added to the preschool program.
