Bambaló Musical Hour | Week 17

Tuesday April 22nd 2025

A lovely time of togetherness and music for the youngest children and their parents under the supervision of Sigrún Harðardóttir, a violinist and music teacher.

In Bambaló we learn fun songs, games and exercises that promote language development, mobility, sense of rhythm and musicality.

Bambaló is also a great platform for parents to get to know other parents of young children.

20 spots available so registration is required. Registration opens Tuesday the 18th of March down below on this page.

Event on Facebook.

What is Week 17?

Week 17 is a global initiative by libraries to highlight the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Launched in Denmark in 2024, the project is a collaboration between libraries, individuals, and grassroots organizations, focusing on sustainability and social responsibility.

At the library, we offer a diverse program with creative activities that promote equality and a sustainable lifestyle.

Join us – together, we create a better future!

How does Bambaló Musical Hour relate to the UN Sustainable Development Goals?

Music fosters child development and strengthens social connections.

Goal 3: Good Health & Well-being – Music positively impacts development, emotional balance, and children's well-being.
Goal 4: Quality Education – Singing and music support language development, communication, and social skills.
Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities – Everyone should have access to culture and arts from an early age, regardless of background.
Goal 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions – Singing and music build trust and connections between parents and children, fostering more peaceful and loving communities.
