Wake Up Spring | Spring and Summer in the garden with Guðríður Helgadóttir
The garden draws us outdoors in spring and summer, along with the many enjoyable tasks waiting for us. Few things are better for physical and mental health than spending some time in the garden and tending to gardening work. Gurrý goes over the main tasks of spring and summer in the garden and explains the best ways to approach them.
Guðríður Helgadóttir (Gurrý (in the garden)) is a horticulturist and biologist and has worked in horticulture in one way or another throughout her career. She has taught for many years at the Horticultural School at Reykir in Ölfur, produced radio and television programs about gardening, and written about gardening for various media outlets. She wrote the book Perennial Plants, which was published in 2023 by Benedikt Publishing. In addition, she is the chair of the Icelandic Horticultural Society.
The event will be in Icelandic.

This event is part of our Spring Festival in the Freeshop in Gerðuberg: Wake up Spring. We celebrate the cycle of nature and welcome you to various different events related to spring activities. The Freeshop in Gerðuberg is a free community space where all items are available at no cost. Visitors can bring items in good condition that they no longer need and take home things they do need.
