Freeshop | Coffee at the Freeshop #5 - Þorgerður María Þorbjarnardóttir

How about stopping by for a cup of coffee and connecting with the local community?

This fall, we‘ll regularly have free coffee in the Freeshop and invite good guests to drop in for a chat. Sometimes it‘s just a casual get together, other times inspirational presentations. Everyone is welcome and everything is free.

This time, Þorgerður María Þorbjarnardóttir will be stopping by for coffee. Þorgerður María is the chair of Landvernd (the Icelandic Environment Association). She is a trained geologist and later added leadership studies in nature conservation through a master’s degree in the UK. She was an active member of the Young Environmentalists for many years and served as chair during the winter of 2020–2021. Þorgerður lives in Laugardalur, was raised in Egilsstaðir, and regularly works as a ranger in the eastern highlands of Vatnajökull National Park.
