Freeshop | Round and Round

Welcome to the opening of the Freeshop in Gerðuberg, Wednesday 25th of September between 4-6pm!

Freeshop – what is it?

Everything is free at the Freeshop in Gerðuberg. Come by when you need something or when you want to give away things you no longer need. What you find in the Freebúð depends on the season; you might find a school bag and warm mittens in the fall, Christmas decorations in December, ski gear during winter time and maybe a bicycle on a sunny day!

Recycling Boxes

In the Freeshop you will find recycling boxes for batteries, small electronics, broken, plates, cups pots and pans, candle leftovers and other items.

Opening Hours

The Freeshop has the same opening hours as Gerðuberg and is located on the upper floor of the building.

Things come and go – round and round. Here you can give away things you have stopped loving and share your precious knowledge - you lend your knowledge and you learn something new from others. We fix, we upcycle, we grow and share. Let‘s keep things and knowledge within the circular economy.

Let's resist and reduce our footprint together.

Garbage is gold.

Events for Big and Small

We host series of creative events in the Freeshop. Focusing on all things evironmental such as upcycling, re-using, growing plants and repairing things. Do you want to have your own event at the Freeshop? We welcome all green ideas!

The Green Library

Libraries are eco-friendly by nature. You borrow items and then return them to so other pepole can do the same. With the Freeshop, we are taking this a step further, in collaboration with the Office of Environmental Quality. We encourage our users to change their consumption patterns, visit the Freeshop regularly and take part in educational and fun events at Gerðuberg.
