Storytime in Hiking Boots!
Come along for a story time in your hiking boots! Linda Ólafsdóttir and Margrét Tryggvadóttir, authors of Here is Reykjavík, create a new story in Úlfarsárdal. The goal is to enjoy the outdoors, learn and create. Linda will invite the participants to take part in an art workshop where natural materials will be used, painting will be done with sticks, branches and leaves as well as drawing and examining our local environment based on imagination, how it was before and how it could be in the future.
The walk starts at the Reykjavík city Library in Úlfarsárdal. The route will then lead down the valley where we will stop at several places and the authors will tell stories. The walk is suitable for ages 5 and up, we encourage the whole family to come and take this walk together. Weather permitting, the art workshop will be outside. A sign language interpreter will be with us.
Linda Ólafsdóttir and Margrét Tryggvadóttir have combined their efforts in the books Íslandsbók barnanna and Here is Reykjavík! both of which have received numerous awards and recognitions. Linda Ólafsdóttir has illustrated several books, but also written and illustrated two children's books that have found their way onto the international market.
