Exhibition tour | Viltu vera memm?

Saturday January 31st 2026

The artists Sóley Þorvaldsdóttir, photographer, and Tinna Þorvalds Önnudóttir, illustrator, will offer a guided tour of their exhibition Viltu vera memm? at Gerðuberg on Saturday, January 31.

The sisters Tinna and Sóley grew up in Breiðholt during the 1990s and 2000s. In this exhibition, they travel through the landscapes of their childhood, weaving together memories and fiction through watercolors and photographs. The places have changed and the trees have grown, but the moments are preserved in memories and photo albums. They invite their child selves to come out and play, and everyday life becomes a playground.

Behind many of the works are stories which, woven together, form an ode to childhood and an ode to Breiðholt—stories the sisters will share with visitors.

Sóley Þorvaldsdóttir completed her studies in creative photography at the Icelandic School of Photography in 2023.
In her work, a tendency toward historical documentation meets poetic storytelling. Time is a recurring theme, and she draws inspiration from many sources, but primarily from her own everyday surroundings.

Tinna Þorvalds Önnudóttir is a visual artist, singer, and actress.
As an image-maker, she works mainly with watercolors and pen. Her work is characterized by bright colors and a sense of playfulness. She often creates characters and narratives in which details take center stage and the everyday is made magnificent.

The tour will be in Icelandic.
