Information about the event
The Data Self: Social Sorting | Installation
The actions you take online are tracked, collected, and used to build a profile of you that drives billions in revenue.
Your clicks, searches, movements, and interactions are analyzed and used to predict what you will do next. And to shape what you see, buy, and believe.
In this exhibition, you will meet constructed portraits of people. Their visible lives, their hidden data profiles, and the systems that act upon them.
Put on the glasses and the headphones.
Look and listen beneath the surface.
Meet the data self.
An installation by the Icelandic Association for Humane Technology and Alexander Jean Fontenay
