Summer Reading | Looking for New Adventure Islands

Let’s travel through the adventures of children’s books. Come to the library and get your very own Adventure Map. The library staff will reward you with an exciting sticker for every book you read this summer.

Do you want to read a fantasy book, a comic or something crazy about science? Or maybe a book about a thing that happened a long long time ago? Do books about sport or animals interest you, or are you simply looking for a book that really makes you laugh?

Let’s have new adventures this summer! Come to the library and pick up the amazing Summer Reading Adventure Map, Leitin að ævintýraheimum. Each time you finish a book, you can collect a special sticker for the map. When you have collected eight stickers, you’ll get the last sticker, which makes you a Reading Champion! You can get the stickers in all public libraries around the country.

Summer reading party

Now the summer reading is coming to an end, and we will celebrate the great success with a Summer reading party at the Reykjavík City Library in Grófinn (down town). Those who have collected all 8 stickers will receive a participation ticket at any of the 8 city libraries and put it in the summer reading box. Everyone who has a ticket in the box has the chance to hit the jack pot and win a price at the reading party on August 26th. The last day to submit a participation ticket is on August 18th.

And don't worry if you haven't got all the stickers before school starts. The stickers will be available in the libraries as long as we have them in stock.

Happy summer reading!
