The Poetry Slam is back from a break and we seek participants aged 15-25!

The Poetry Slam (Ljóðaslamm) has been a regular and a popular event at the Reykjavík City Library through the years. Known poets, musicians and performance artists have taken their first steps at the slam. We now seek participants for 2023!

Information for applicants:

• The Poetry Slam is open for groups and individuals from 15-25 years of age.
• A "cheat sheet" is allowed on stage.
• The poem has to be written by one of the performers or a person on stage.
• The poem can be in Icelandic or English.
• The performance can be max 3 minutes of lenght.
• Deadline is through January 24th 2023.

The application must include:

• The name of the performer
• Age
• Idea of the performance

WHERE AND WHEN?

The Poetry Slam 2023 will be held Friday February 3rd in Reykjavík City Library Grófin. Exact timing will be announced later. 

Jury
Members of the jury are Steinunn Jónsdóttir (from Daughters of Reykjavík), Jón Magnús Arnarsson (winner of The Poetry Slam 2017) and Örvar Smárason (writer and member of bands FM Belfast and MÚM).
