Scratch: Gaming Workshop
Experts from Skema from the University of Reykjavík will teach kids basic coding and the main concepts of video game design with Scratch. Students create simple video games, design characters and environments as well as coding.
The workshop is for 7-10 year olds.
The workshop is free but registration is required. Registration begins here on this page on October 18.
Scratch is a free coding environment available online. This means that students can easily continue coding at home. Scratch is available in Icelandic.
Skema specializes in teaching and research guided by psychology, pedagogy and computer science. Skema offers a wide range of technical courses and also works towards the goal of teaching coding in primary and secondary schools in the country.
