Make-a-thek | The Weekend Sweater with Fözz studio
Do you have a collection of leftover yarn and want to knit a beautiful and creative sweater from it?
The Weekend Sweater (Helgarpeysan) is designed specifically as a scrap-yarn sweater and therefore helps make use of all the yarn ends and leftovers that tend to accumulate. The sweater is knitted using 12 mm circular needles, and because of the large needle size, it works up very quickly. The pattern is very simple and suitable for both beginners and more experienced knitters.
Stella Ögmundsdóttir graduated from the Textile Department of the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts in spring 2024. She creates garments and textile works under the name Fözz Studio. Stella works exclusively with recycled materials in her practice, and more often than not, the available materials themselves guide the creative process.
Participants are asked to bring their own leftover yarn, as well as the following needles:
12 mm circular needle, 100 cm long
12 mm circular needle, 50 cm long
There will also be plenty of yarn available on site for those who do not have enough.
This is a workshop series where we meet on three consecutive Wednesday evenings. We will therefore be knitting our Weekend Sweaters together, with each participant creating their own unique version.
You are welcome to attend even if you cannot make it to all sessions.
