Discrimination in sport: obstacles and solutions
In view of the next Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024, the French Embassy in Iceland invites you to a discussion about discrimination in sport in partnership with Alliance Française de Reykjavík, Öspin association and Sema Erla Serdaroglu, adjunkt lecturer at the University of Iceland.
The Embassy will first screen two short movies from the Ex-æquo series. Then Helga Hákonardóttir and Sema Sedaroglu will respectively approach the theme of discrimination from the perspective of disability and cultural discrimination. They will present the obstacles encountered by athletes and a few initiatives that exist to circumvent them.
The meeting will end with a Q&A session.
The event will be held in English and the short film will have English subtitles. A glass of wine will be offered at the entrance.
