Information about the event
Vinyl Cutter Workshop | Adults
Do you want to learn how to make your own wall stickers, sandblasting film on the windows or labels for the water bottle, mobile or dry goods boxes?
You can print stickers in various colors to stick on a wall pr other surface. You’ll also be able to print stickers with a sandblasted texture for sticking on windows.
Stella Sif Jónsdóttir, a specialist at the library, will show participants how to use the vinyl cutter.
The vinyl cutter we use in the workshop is called Silhouette Cameo, but it connects to a computer through a software called Silhouette Studios. The library will have 2-3 computers available, so participants do not need to bring anything with them. However, you are welcome to bring a laptop and download the software needed, in advance. You can download the software for free here: https://www.silhouetteamerica.com/software
It is also a good idea to bring the object that the sticker is to be applied to. If you want to put a sticker on a wall or in a window, measure in advance. Note that the size of the vinyl is 30x30cm.
The workshop is intended for adults but children are welcome with their parent or guardian.
Registration for the workshop is open here below.
Here you can see a few examples of labels we have made in the vinyl cutter:
