Workshop| Make paper dolls with Birna Daníelsdóttir

Sunday May 24th 2026

In connection with the exhibition Sketches Become a Book, Birna Daníelsdóttir will host an art workshop that will guide participants in creating a paper doll in the spirit of the character from the book I Live in Giantland.

Here, visitors have the opportunity to cut out, colour and design clothes for the paper dolls using different materials, and thus bring the book's character to life in their own way or create their own character. The joy of creation is what's celebrated here.

This is a family workshop where adults are encouraged to attend with children of all ages and have a fun time together.

Birna Daníelsdóttir was born in Sweden in 1981 and lives in Reykjavík with her family. She graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Biology from the University of Iceland in 2008 and an M.Sc. in Marine Biology from Lund University in Sweden. For many years, she then worked in quality control in the microbiology department of a pharmaceutical company before changing tack completely and completing a diploma in drawing from the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts in 2022. There, she fulfilled a long-held dream of working in a creative field and now works as a freelance illustrator.

The workshop is in connection with Birna's exhibition, Sketches Become a book
