Publishing Event | Shota Rustaveli in Icelandic

The Embassy of Georgia to Iceland, The Honorary Consulate of Georgia in Iceland, The Reykjavík City Library, The National Library of Iceland and Snorrastofa has the honor to invite you to the presentation of the first-ever Icelandic translation of selected aphorisms from The Knight in the Panther’s Skin, the world-renowned 12th-century epic poem by Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli. Followed by a Georgian wine reception featuring special wines from Georgia.

The Knight in the Panther's Skin is a masterpiece of the world literature, translated into around 50 languages. The themes of the gender equality, freedom of expression, support, and mutual respect are values that resonate deeply in both Georgian and Icelandic cultures, contributing to build bridges between societies and enriching our shared cultural heritage.

The event will take place in Grófin City Library, on Friday, 6th of December, from 15:00-17:00.
