Producer Talk in the Recording Studio | Kristinn Þór Óskarsson

Tuesday May 27th 2025

On Tuesday evening, May 27th, we welcome a special guest to the Recording Studio at the City Library in Úlfarsárdalur. Kristinn Þór Óskarsson, better known as Kiddi, will join us for a talk about his work as a music producer and musician.

During the event, Kiddi will share his approach to recording and production – how he thinks about sound, what gear and software he uses, and the techniques he relies on to achieve the right sound. He will also open a session from a song he has produced and give a behind-the-scenes look at his workflow, while sharing practical tips and tricks he has learned over the years.

The event is informal and open to anyone interested in music, recording, technology, and the creative process.

This is a great opportunity to drop by, ask questions, and gain insight into the work and mindset of an experienced producer!

About Kiddi
Kristinn Þór Óskarsson, almost always called Kiddi, is a guitarist and music producer from Reykjavík with a passion for live music, recording, and vintage high-end gear. He studied guitar at FÍH (Icelandic Musicians Union School) and later at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, graduating in 2015 with degrees in guitar performance and audio engineering.

Kiddi has been active in the Icelandic music scene in recent years, working in recording, arranging, and performing live music. He produced the album „Ást & Praktík“ by Hipsumhaps and is a member and producer of the band Superserious. In addition, he regularly collaborates with other artists and produces music for commercials and television. His focus is on crafting a sound that is both polished and emotionally resonant, combining old-school techniques with modern technology.
