Kindergarten Mittens

Wednesday March 26th 2025

Do you want to knit mittens for a child you know?

During this cozy knitting event Sigurlaug Elín Þórhallsdóttir will show a few of her favorite knitting patterns for kindergarten mittens, both her own and by others. She will share what type of yarn and design is best to use based on her experience as a kindergarten teacher and show how you can make the mittens into cute mice with little effort.

Sigurlaug is a department manager at the kindergarten Hof and one of four women in the knitting society Prjónafjelagið. They have published four knitting books, among them the popular Leikskólaföt and Leikskólaföt 2.

The event will be held in Icelandic at The Reykjavik City Library Sólheimar on Wednesday the 26th of March at 18:30-20:30. Everyone is warmly welcome with or without knitting needles – but it's most fun to bring a knitting project along!
