BORGARBÓKASAFNIÐ

The Reykjavík City Library welcomes a diverse range of groups, including both children and adults, locals and visitors from abroad.
We offer story times for our youngest groups, and for schoolchildren we have a variety of library introductory tours, where we encourage them to get to know our catalog and facilities, so they can use the library for their own aims and enjoyment.
The staff at the Reykjavík City Library in Gerðuberg, Grófin, Kringlan, Spöngin, and Úlfarsárdalur also welcomes groups, both large and small, for a guided tour of the library's premises, collection, and facilities. All groups are warmly welcomed, but teachers in the upper grades of elementary school, high school teachers, and those who teach Icelandic as a second language are especially encouraged to bring their students on a field trip to the library.
During the visit, guests learn general information about the Reykjavík City Library, including:
Then, there is a stroll around the library where guests are shown the collection and the facilities. In addition to a diverse selection of books in Icelandic and English, the Reykjavík City Library also has a fine collection of children's and adult books in other languages.
Colleagues from libraries and cultural institutions, both domestic and international, are warmly welcomed. Each group receives a customized program based on the wishes and focus of the visit.
