Future Festival | OPEN CALL
What problems weigh on your mind today— disconnection, inequalities, eco-crisis —and how can we ensure they don’t exist 100 years from now?
The library offers a unique democratic platform—a true place of practice where we can gather to reflect on the issues you want to discuss and work together to build strong alliances for better futures. How can we develop communities with common intentions?
APPLY NOW to be a part of the Future Festival program!

• Application deadline: 8th November 2024, 23:59
• Program announced: 30th November 2024
• Future Festival: 25th January 2025
The library remunerates each selected applicant with 60.000 ISK for their happening during the festival. A total of 10 contributions will be selected by a selection committee.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
A selection committee will review all submitted applications and select 10 contributions to the Future Festival. The committee will take the following into account:
- Is the application aligned with the focus of the Future Festival 2025 - namely, nature-human relation, originality or optimism for the future.
- Is the contribution participatory and does it encourage the development of diverse futures.
When choosing applications, the overall program and how it appeals to different senses will be considered. It is assumed that each contribution is about 90 minutes long, but the exact length of time will depend on the nature of each contribution.
