Information about the event
What should we grow in the library?
We are starting an indoor herb garden and would love to hear what you would like to grow in there! We are also collecting seeds to grow our seed library for the next planting season!
Do you have extra seeds at home you would like to donate? Do you have suggestions for herbs you miss from home? Or some spare time to help us create planting calendars that work in the Icelandic climate? Come and join us for some tea, coffee, snacks and crafts among the seeds! Participation is free, as always, and everyone is welcome to join.
Seed libraries are becoming a common library resource and are proving to be an excellent way to bring the community together through gardening. People and organizations are encouraged to donate extra seeds to add to the seed library. Community members can freely come and get seeds from the drawers and are encouraged to replenish the library with seeds from their plants when they mature.
Not coming to the event? You can bring your extra seeds to any of our library locations anytime. Just bring them to the reception and make sure they are labelled!
