Information about the event
make-a-thek workshop | Creative mending
Do you have a favorite sweater or garment that needs repair?
Then this workshop is something for you!
We invite you to a make-a-thek workshop where we will learn to fix our clothes in a creative way with the good guidance of Emma Shannon.
Emma Shannon is a Reykjavik based, Scottish Textile Artist and Designer whose work explores the intersection of wearable technology and traditional craft. By combining hands-on making with emerging technologies, she specialises in creating inclusive interdisciplinary spaces that foster experimentation and future-facing solutions for sustainability and creative collaboration. As a part of the Endurtakk collective and the repair cafe community her focus has been on the creative reuse, repair and reimagining of locally sourced textiles and clothing.
Bring with you a tapestry needle, threads and textiles to play with and practice on. There will also be materials at the workshop to use.
This event is a part of a project called make-a-thek which is funded by the EU.
