BORGARBÓKASAFNIÐ

Come, try, and discover the diverse world of board games! The world of board games is far bigger than Scrabble, Monopoly, and Ludo. Each year, over 5,000 new board games are published. Every game works in its own unique way, but many share certain core mechanics with others. This winter, board game enthusiast Tryggvi Björgvinsson brings something new and exciting to the library in Úlfarsárdalur: weekly board game nights for adults (16+), every Wednesday from 7.30-9.30 pm. Each month, Tryggvi will introduce a different board game mechanic and explain how it works. Each week, different cards containing the respective mechanics will be available to play. The game of the month: Trick-takers are a well known form of card games. Many of us have played Whist or Hearts but there's a plethora of trick-takers and ladder climbers (ladder climbers are a related mechanic that is often categorized with trick-takers). These are the mechanics we'll look at in May. You can register on the website Aftergame, here: https://aftergame.app/groups/spilastund
