Book Exchange | Móðurmál Library

The International Mother Language Day is celebrated all over the world in February every year, also in Reykjavik!

This year Bókasafn Móðurmáls – together with Móðurmál - the Association on Bilingualism and Reykjavik City Library, invites you to a book exchange market. The goal is to celebrate The International Mother Language Day and all the languages spoken in our surroundings.

We are giving away lots of good children’s books in various languages. These are all extra copies or books that are not suited to the library, and we are hoping for them to get a new home.
Everybody is encouraged to bring books for children and youngsters in any language to exchange so that they can bring joy in new homes.

Móðurmál's library is voluntary base library with foreign languages for children and youth. We have around 8500 books in 100 languages and it's possibile to see our collection on modurmal.leitir.is (union catalogue for Icelandic libraries). The library is located in Suðurlandsbraut 6 and is open every Friday from 15-17 and 1-2 Satudays every month from 10-14 (see more details on facebook).
