BORGARBÓKASAFNIÐ

The eighth and final prize winner has now been drawn in the Summer Reading Challenge, Gúndi the Billy Goat and the Great Grass Hunt, organised by Reykjavík City Library, the Centre for Education and School Services, and public libraries across Iceland. This time, the lucky winner is Esjar Freysson, aged 9. Esjar is a keen reader and has already read plenty of books this summer.
What's your favourite book?
"Orri Becomes Unstoppable," Esjar replies. It's the latest book in the Orri Unstoppable series, and Esjar says he's read every single one of them.
Where do you like reading the most?
Esjar pauses for a moment.
"At home," he says.
Which book would you recommend to your friends?
"The Principal [by Ævar Þór Benediktsson]," he says with a laugh.
Which book would you recommend to adults?
"Lionboy: The Truth [by Zizou Corder]," says Esjar, who is currently reading it himself. He describes it as entertaining and full of humour that adults would definitely enjoy.
What's your favourite thing to do during the summer?
"Go outside and play football, handball, or golf," he says.
What did you do for fun this summer?
"I spent a lot of time playing outside. I also travelled abroad with my family to Almería in Spain and played in a golf tournament in Mosfellsbær."
We warmly congratulate Esjar on winning his prize book and hope it will inspire him to keep reading!
