The Booker Prize 2026 shortlist was unveiled at London's Southbank Centre on 22 September. The shortlist features six novels, including works by two previous Booker Prize winners, Marlon James and Douglas Stuart, as well as a novel by Elizabeth Strout, who has now been shortlisted for the third time.
The following titles have been shortlisted this year:
The Booker Prize has been awarded for 55 years and has brought attention to, and elevated, countless literary works over the decades. This year's shortlist was chosen from 163 nominated books written in English and published in the United Kingdom and Ireland between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026.
The winner of the 2026 Booker Prize will be announced on 9 November at a ceremony in London. The winner will receive £50,000 in prize money, while the other shortlisted authors will each receive £2,500.
