Children's Culture Festival
Makerspace at the Library

Reykjavík City Library | Culture House Gerðubergi
Sunday April 14th from 13.00-15.00

We invite children and their families to our makerspace in the library. There it is possible to try out the computer Raspberry Pi, the simple programming tool Scratch and Makey Makey which can turn different things into controllers for games. You can use bananas, playdough or what ever comes to mind to operate the games you make in Scratch.

Instructors from the organisation Koder will teach the guests. Note that the curriculum and the instructions are in Icelandic. The instructors can offer assistance in English.

This is an opportunity for children and their families to get to know new and exciting technology and programming on their own terms.

Koder is a non-profit organisation aiming to introduce programming for ages 9-16. Reykjavik City Library thinks that technology literacy is an extremely important factor in the education of children and will seek to support it in the upcoming semesters.

Everyone is welcome to this free event.
