Reading Circles and Chat Groups

It’s fun to read and even more fun to share your thoughts about literature with others! Different groups meet regularly in our libraries to talk about all kinds of literature during the winter season. Check out the groups available and come read with us!
Do you want to start your own reading circle or chat group where you discuss books that you like? We encourage you to contact us by sending us an email to the library you want to have the reading circle or chat group, and we will help you to set it up.
When creating a new reading circle or chat group, it is good to keep the following in mind:
- The time and place must be determined in consultation with the staff of the library.
- Create a catchy name for your group
- Write a short and concise introductory text
- Select a theme for the season and if the books have been decided beforehand, we recommend that you mention them
- Set up a Facebook event and have the City Library as a co-host
The City Library's involvement consists of the following:
- To host your group
- To serve coffee and tea, if requested
- To present the group on the City Library website and social media
Book Club in a Bag is a service for reading circles and book clubs. Users can borrow a special bag that contains everything needed to run a book club. Whether it’s for friends, workplaces, or family, you can set up a book club with minimal effort.
