No Login With Electronic ID
Starting September 1st, the option to log in to borgarbokasafn.is using electronic ID will no longer be available.
Users can still log in using their kennitala and password, which is the same password used on leitir.is and for the E-Library.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Reykjavík City Library staff are ready to help via phone, email, or at your local library.
Set a New Password
If you don't know your password you can set a new one here: Set a New Password.
This gives you a form where you can input your kennitala and press "Send".
(The form gives you the option to input your email, instead of your kennitala. But if that email is not on record, or used by more than one user – a parent and child, for example – this will not work.)
You will get an email to the email address we have on record for you, with a link to set a new password.
If you don't receive an email, we may not have your email address on record.
Open the link in the email, input your new password and choose "Send".
