Krakkanám | Reading Support

The Family Centre and Gerðuberg Library offer reading support for children in Grades 4, 5, and 6 at Fellaskóli under the project Krakkanám, where volunteers help students with their home reading assignments.
The reading support sessions take place at the library every Monday from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
The aim of the project is to strengthen literacy skills and empower children. Each student receives one-on-one support from a volunteer who listens to them read, helps with pronunciation, discusses the text with them, and explains unfamiliar words. The children read texts assigned by their teachers as part of that day's homework. Assistance with other subjects, such as mathematics, is also available upon request.
Students in Grades 4, 5, and 6 at Fellaskóli can apply to participate in Krakkanám by contacting their homeroom teacher. The number of available places depends on the number of volunteers participating in the project at any given time.
