BORGARBÓKASAFNIÐ

Birna Kristbjargardóttir, a librarian at Árbær City Library, has enjoyed crafts since she was a child and says she is always working on a knitting project.
It comes as no surprise, then, that the book she is taking on holiday is Knitting for Little Sweethearts by Hanne Andreassen Hjelmås and Torunn Steinsland.
“My son gave me this book as a Christmas present a few years ago, and I've already knitted so many projects from it. I'm planning to keep going over the holidays. The instructions are so clear and detailed,” says Birna, who has a lifelong passion for needlework.
“Yes, I'm always knitting something. I made my first garments, a hat and a scarf, for my doll when I was six years old. I also love crocheting and embroidery, so I make good use of all kinds of craft books throughout the year.”
What else does Birna enjoy reading?
“I've been completely absorbed by Lucinda Riley's The Seven Sisters series. They're a captivating blend of historical fiction and mystery. I think they are wonderfully written.”
Does she also make use of technology and listen to audiobooks?
“Absolutely. I use the Libby app a lot, and I recently listened to a truly remarkable book through the E-Library called Theo of Golden by Allan Levi.* It's one of the most beautiful stories I've ever read—or listened to. I recommend it one hundred percent.”
